Staying Updated on Current Research

Many different places offer updates on research as it comes out, so I've decided not to reinvent the wheel. Here are some great options:

Science and Sensibility Blog

Excellent blog by Amy Romano, a CNM who excels in analyzing and critically reading research. A must-read for me!

Medscape

Register (it's free!) to sign up for the women's health e-mail newsletter, or just visit the news page periodically. This newsletter covers all women's health issues so some topics might not be of interest.

Childbirth Connection

This page leads you to the evidence based care info. Signups for the different e-mail newsletters show up randomly in the sidebar, so look for them as you browse the site.

The Family Way

Debby Amis, author of "Prepared Childbirth the Family Way" blogs on her site about new studies and articles of interest. Scroll down to "Join the Discussion" on the home page to see the updates, or sign up to get the feed through a blog reader.

Twitter

I have not yet gotten into Twitter, but I bet there are resources there to stay updated as well. Know of a good Twitter resource? Visit the "Contact Me" page above and let me know so I can add it here. (And maybe it will tempt me to start Twittering, too....)

Many journals listed on our "Journals" page also have an RSS feed you can sign up for to get the table of contents and abstracts sent to you regularly.
