Maile McKain, Dipl. OM, L. Ac. MS TCM
This session will cover the mechanism of acupuncture and acupressure, the location of some points indicated for labor, and discuss case studies to give you practice in determining their use. You'll gain the basics of a valuable addition to your skills as a doula.
Art From the Womb
Sarah Carter
Explore the value of birth art for both birth preparation and processing, and how you can use this technique with your clients in prenatal or postpartum visits.
Birth Swap Throughout the day, you will get to buy and sell birth related items at the annual Birth Swap. Items are sold to the highest bidder silent auction style. You can make a little spare change from your unused supplies, or designate the proceeds towards the UDA scholarship fund if you wish. Bring any items you have to sell, or just bring your checkbook and shop the swap!
Networking Dinner In the evening, you will also have the chance to network with other doulas, at an optional Saturday evening dinner immediately following conference clean-up. We'll move to a local restaurant for lots of fun, lots of laughter, and really good food!
Conference fee is $55 and includes all sessions, lunch and CEU credits. Renew your UDA and/or DONA membership when you register and SAVE $10! Registration is limited, and will absolutely close at
Midnight on February 24. There will be NO registration at the door.
Conference Registration is now closed.
Refund Policy We want to be understanding of the unpredictable nature of what we do, while still ensuring the Utah Doula Association doesn't waste a lot of money buying food and printing handouts for last minute no-shows. The UDA has decided that we will follow a set policy when refunds for conference registration is requested. Refunds are approved only for doulas who miss a conference for a birth, and $25 of the conference fee is nonrefundable. Doulas applying for a refund must submit a signature from a nurse, midwife or doctor verifying the doulas attendance at a birth on the day of the conference. The UDA President, Patricia Olsen, will handle all requests for refunds.
